Even though this post is quite old, it certainly fitted my needs!!!

i almost switched to windows to see previews for easy burning

(i also could not really find an answer on google for dolphin on the same preview answer, but appearently Dolphin uses Konquerer settings)and now it works flawlessly

Now I'm looking for the setting to control the preview size in pixels. If I set my icon size to "huge" that means 128 pixels. I'd like the hover preview images to be even huger. :-)

I probably should have figured this one out myself, but I hit google before looking at Konqueror's settings. This post came up as the first result, saved me some time and maybe a little frustration. Thanks.

Sorry I can't help you, Dylan. :-(

And thanks, Shine, for helping us all out! With the current version of Konqueror (3.5.6), the place to find the option for changing the maximum preview filesize is: "Settings->Configure Konqueror->Previews & Metadata->Maximum file size"

Hi, all. I came across this thread while looking on Google for "konqueror preview maximum file size". Maybe I'm not very good with Google, but I can't find anything that really answers my question. Google skills aside, here's my question.

I HIGHLY doubt that (a) anyone will see this, (b) anyone will respond in mid-2007 to a comment from a 2004 blog post, and (c) anyone who disproves (a) and (b) will know the answer, but here goes: I rip my DVDs and such to .avi and .mpg files on my computer, and almost none of them is under 200 MB--twice the max file size for Konqueror previews in KDE 3.5.6. Is there a way to override this setting to allow me to preview thumbnails of movies up to, say, 700-800MB?

I appreciate any help anyone can give me--even an application to generate and embed thumbnails would be fine. To anyone who reads this (and to Shine for starting the discussion 3 years ago and keeping the posts up), thank you for your time and I wish you all well.

Peace,
Dylan

a year and a half too late:

to change the konqueror preview file size option from any window manager, use the command 'kcontrol' to open the kde control center. then go to kde components>file manager>previews and meta data

I've no idea about that, but if I find out the answer, I'll add it here. There might be a setting in ~/.kde somewhere that's involved in this, but I'll need to wait till I get back to my linux box before I can check it out. If anyone else knows, then post here!
