[...] So Kubuntu Dapper came out last week, and I thought I would try to upgrade. Last time went moderately well, and the same again this time - only moderately well. Still, four problems for an operating system upgrade (and in the linux world, that’s every single application as well) isn’t too bad. [...]

[...] I initially wrote the code to run my website myself. In the last few months the amount of comment spam i was getting was out of hand, and causing me bandwidth problems. Coupled with the fact that my job is currently giving me plenty of oportunity to do coding, I have decided to follow other people, and use someone elses blogging software. So here we are, curtosy of wordpress which i chose as it seems to be used by so many other people. I am sure that I will get round to customising it in the fullness of time….
Mmmm, I hadn't noticed that I was building up a backlog of spam comments in the moderation queue, so thanks for the pointer. And it turns out that both Nia and Mustafa had comments waiting there too... oops. Hopefully it's got some kind of 'learning', seeing as I can mark posts as 'spam' instead of just deleting them.

I've just had a load of spam comments (which curiously never affected the drupal blog). They all appear to have got caught and made to wait in a moderation queue (I think it's because they had too many links in them). It bodes well though
